System Engineer

To further strengthen our Corporate Unit we are looking for a:   System Engineer

Your tasks:

  • Select the hardware and software of the LIMS platforms (servers, external devices, etc.)  and Proactively evaluate new platforms 
  • Manage and maintain the LIMS R&D development servers, including tools to monitor the optimal environment for running these systems
  • Implement, maintain and backup the internal development network infrastructure
  • Work with the IT security advisor and the product experts in LIMS R&D department to configure our systems in the most efficient way to secure the environment and showcase it to customers
  • Define, document, communicate and govern the standards for the customer systems (System-Maintenance-Guide)
  • Develop and implement concepts for our product platform (e.g. new redundancy concept, security concepts, system hardening, platform patch management etc.)

Your profile:

  • Experience in administrating Linux servers as well as Shell programming in UNIX environments 
  • Network experience (TCP/IP, Client/Server, HTTP, FTP, IPsec, SNMP, VPN, LDAP)
  • Fluent English and German language skills
  • You are able to assimilate new technical and non-technical skills in a very short time
  • Experience with SQL database maintenance
