To further strengthen our Corporate Unit we are looking for a:   Senior Cloud/ DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Application Porting and Optimization: Support the porting of mainly C++-based Telco applications to cloud environments, focusing on performance optimization, reliability and security.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g. Kubernetes/Openshift, GCP, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMWare) to support the applications and network integration
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Containerize applications and implement efficient deployment strategies using Kubernetes and other CNCF tools.
  • DevOps Pipeline Implementation: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Developer Support: Collaborate closely with C++ developers to provide technical guidance on cloud migration, containerization, and DevOps best practices.
  • Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Your profile:

Core Competencies:

  • Kubernetes and CNCF: Proven ability to deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes clusters. In-depth knowledge of the Kubernetes architecture, the CNCF ecosystem and its tools.
  • Cloud Platforms: Strong expertise deploying and managing applications in public cloud environments (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure) and private cloud solutions (e.g. OpenStack, VMWare).
  • Linux: Strong expertise in Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Networking: Good understanding of network protocols, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • IT Security: Expertise in implementing security best practices, including encryption, access control, and vulnerability management.
  • DevOps Practices: Proven track record in implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation.

Programming and Scripting:

  • Python: Proficiency in Python programming for automation, scripting, and data analysis.
  • Shell Scripting: Strong shell scripting skills for system administration and automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in the IaC and Configuration Management technologies like Helm, Ansible and Terraform
  • Go: Experience with Go programming is a plus.
  • C++: Familiarity with C++ is desirable due to the need for supporting a C++-based application.

Additional Skills:

  • Problem-solving: Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills to work with development and operations teams.
  • Continuous Learning: Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest cloud and DevOps technologies.
  • Telco Industry: Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
