Working Student – IT Security

Deine Aufgaben:

About the role:

Utimaco’s Trust-as-a-Service business provides cloud-based cryptographic and trust services to customers around the world. Security is a core part of how we design, operate and continuously improve these services.

As a Working Student in IT Security, you will work closely with our Security Operations and Service Operations teams and gain hands-on experience in vulnerability management, security tooling and the implementation of security solutions in a real production environment.

You will support the team with analysing security findings, improving our security tooling and automating security-related operational tasks. The role is well suited to someone who wants to build practical cybersecurity experience alongside their studies.


Activities:

  • Support the Security Operations team with triaging, analysing and investigating vulnerabilities.
  • Support the Operations team with deploying, maintaining and automating existing and new security solutions.
  • Help identify and evaluate open-source security tools that could improve our security posture.
  • Assist with testing and integrating security tooling into our Trust-as-a-Service environments.
  • Support the documentation and continuous improvement of security processes and technical solutions.
  • Work together with Security, Operations and Engineering teams on day-to-day security topics.

Dein Profil:

  • Enrolled student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a comparable technical field.
  • Interest in cybersecurity.
  • Basic understanding of Linux and networking.
  • Comfortable communicating in English in an international team.
  • Ability to work independently and solve technical problems using your own understanding and judgement.
  • Ideally, some basic knowledge of programming, Ansible, Docker and vulnerability management.
